A Welcome Message From The Chairman
Reg Poulton
As many of you know, since 1969 there has been a rally in Fairford Park each year, excluding two which had to be cancelled through no fault of our own.
The rallies have been well attended and it known for its compactness and attractions
for all the family.
Exhibitors and visitors come from all parts of England and quite a few foreign visitors too.
We think we have a perfect setting for a rally, this being held in parkland in Fairford
Shops and the well known St. Mary’s Church with the famous stained glass windows
To be found just across the road.
This year the rally is to be opened by Willie Carson, the well known jockey and trainer. We have Steam engines, large and small, tractors, organs, commercials, cars
Cycles both motor and pedal, stationary engines, plus many other things an d trade stands in abundance.
If you are thinking of coming along to Fairford Rally this year for the first time be assured there is entertainment for all.
If you wish to enter something at the rally you may not have engines or cars etc but you may wish to exhibit in the Model Tent. The Horticultural tent too has something to entice you to have a go, not just gardening and cookery but such things as photography can be entered. If you are interested in Crafts, then perhaps you may wish to work in the Craft tent.
The main ring is kept busy at all times. This year there will be Grand parades of different exhibits, the No Limitz Motor Cycle team, being the main attraction, coming back by popular demand.
There will be invitation steering events on Steam engines around the ring
The organising committee is very small but all work hard. We have section Leaders
Who again work to collate a good selection of exhibits for display.
Come along and have an enjoyable day out – or maybe make it a weekend there is so
much to see.
